Austin Community College offers several English language programs to match your needs. You'll get small classes taught by highly qualified instructors ready to help you meet your goals. Free tutoring is available.
Choose from the programs below.
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

You can study basic, intermediate, and advanced English. The ESOL Program prepares you for college-level courses and career advancement. You can enroll in ESOL classes as a college-credit or noncredit student.
Credit Admission:
- Complete the ACC admissions application.
- You must have a high school diploma or GED.
- School transcripts required (must be translated into English).
- You will receive college credit for each class you complete.
- Your ACC District residency status will determine your tuition and fees.
- You may be eligible for financial aid and scholarships.
Noncredit Admission:
- Complete the Continuing Education ESOL application.
- No minimum education requirements.
- Your tuition may be lower than credit admission if you live outside the ACC District.
- You will not be eligible for college credit, financial aid, or scholarships.

- Intensive English Program (IEP)

An intensive English language program to prepare college students for the TOEFL and college-level coursework.
- Approved for F-1 visa holders.
- Complete the ACC Admissions application.
- You must have a high school diploma or GED.
- School transcripts required (must be translated into English)
- You will receive college credit for each class you complete.

- Adult Education: English as a Second Language (ESL)

A free program offering English instruction for everyday life or to prepare for the GED.
- Free basic English classes if you qualify.
- No minimum education requirements.
- Some options include career training.
- Basic English instruction only.
- Students advance to the English for Speakers of Other Languages Program.
